Five Years in Thirty Days
‘Five Years in Thirty Days’
Jaz Grady
This exhibition is the celebration of five years' hard work, and thirty life changing days in India.
Focusing on the relationships between place and person, I hoped to capture the differences and similarities in life that transcend geographical localities.
The culture of India and the connection of people, place and spirituality is something that is mirrored in many places and so very interesting to observe.
India is a place of juxtapositions. For such a poor country, they are so very rich - rich with religion, rich with family, rich with respect.
Working primarily with film and analogue photography in my arts practice, India offered the same pressures and rapid changes in moments that you
are limited to when shooting film. This worked well with my constant desire
to capture the authentic, and to be forced to always feel the low of a moment lost, as well as the excitement of one mirrored in an image.
