Yulgilbar International Traveling Fellowship
“Congratulations to Jaz Grady, Julianne Gosper and Jimmy Wags who were announced last night as the recipients of the Yulgilbar Travelling Fellowships by Grafton Regional Gallery Director Niomi Sands. What wonderful support for our Clarence Valley artists to pursue projects around the globe. We can’t wait to see the results from these artists!”

The Yulgilbar Fellowship is a proud initiative of the Yulgilbar Foundation and the Grafton Regional Gallery. This fellowship is an opportunity for individual artists or artist groups of the Clarence Valley who work across all mediums and subjects to broaden and enhance their professional development.
Two Yulgilbar Travelling fellowships are awarded to Clarence Valley artists to provide assistance towards the cost of international or Australian travel to undertake a residency, internship or mentorship or to undertake a self-initiated artistic project, or research which may include establishing valuable contacts, researching current international practices, and engaging with international exhibition programs.
$5,000 will be provided for an Australian travelling fellowship
$8,000 will be provided for an international travelling fellowship
Each application is reviewed by a judging panel comprising Peter Wood, CEO Arts Northern Rivers, Niomi Sands, Gallery Director and Julie Hutchings, Artist and previous recipient of a Travelling Fellowship.
The 2019 Fellowships were to be completed by 30 June 2020. At the conclusion of each Fellowship the successful artists will be required to submit an artistic report on their experience and present a talk or slide night at the Grafton Regional Gallery to share stories from their experience.
UPDATE: The Yulgilbar 2019 Exhibitions will be on display at the Grafton Regional Gallery from July 1st, 2021.
